Volunteer Registration Timeline Announced

With the sixth official McGladrey Classic just more than two hundred days away, tournament organizers are preparing to welcome spectators, PGA TOUR golfers and their families to the Golden Isles.  This year’s McGladrey Classic will be held November 16 – 22 on Sea Island Golf Club’s Seaside and Plantation courses.

Each year, the tournament requires the time and talent of approximately 1,200 volunteers to help in more than twenty different areas.  More information on volunteer committees can be found here.  Registration for returning volunteers begins Wednesday, April 22, and registration for new volunteers begins June 1.

“The McGladrey Classic has one of the best volunteer corps on the PGA TOUR,” said McGladrey Classic Tournament Director Scott Reid.  “Volunteers are critical to the success of our event.  With the addition of the Plantation course and the increase in number professional golfers playing this year, we have even more volunteer needs than in our first five years.

“We are also excited to announce the launch of a new volunteer registration system.  It’s a simple two-step process,” said Reid.

Volunteers will go to https://www.dlfvolunteers.com and enter a username and password.  They will create a profile and select and submit their top three committee choices.  Once volunteers are notified that they have been assigned to their committee, they will be able to complete the second step which includes verifying contact information, completing a medical form, purchasing the volunteer uniform package and requesting their volunteer schedule.

The volunteer registration fee is $80 and includes an exclusive package valued at more than $500.  Each package includes one round of golf at Sea Island Golf Club (for anyone working a minimum of 12 hours), two Good Any One Day tickets to the tournament (good Thursday – Sunday), a POLO Golf Shirt and Outerwear piece, an Imperial golf cap or visor, a commemorative pin and a meal voucher for each shift worked.
